Getting Started
If you would like a commission, please e-mail me on the day when my queue re-opens. (This information can always be found in the queue page on this website.) To reserve a commission slot, I will need to know:
- How many heads would you like me to work on?
- When you would like to send them (what month)?
- Are you looking for anything other than a basic faceup? (Freckles, scars, and tattoos are not included in a basic faceup.)
I will hold a commission slot for you if one is available, mark your screen name in the queue, and e-mail you to confirm.
After You Have a Commission Slot
- Please copy the commission form and complete it with as much detail as you would like. E-mail it to me.*
- I will acknowledge that I've received it, ask you any questions I may have, and confirm details with you. At that point, I will give you an exact price quote, provide you with payment information, and give you my address.
- Send your heads so that they arrive before or during your commission month (see #4 & #5 below, under General Notes).
- I will acknowledge when I receive your heads and let you know that they are safely in hand.
- Payment is expected before I begin work unless we discuss otherwise.
- I will send progress photos throughout as I work on your head. At each stage, you will have the opportunity to have me change elements of the faceup so that it best matches what you request. I am happy to repaint a head from scratch once, but there will be an additional charge if I have to do this two or more times.
- Once your head is completed and approved, I will ship it back to you. Please always let me know when you receive it safely!
*I have received several carte blanche faceup requests--I love them and am happy to do them So if you don't want to fill out the form and would prefer to give me a general idea of what you want, that's fine, too!
General Notes
- I will accept up to 3 heads per person.
- Turnaround times will vary quite a bit (my work demands extensive travel), but I usually need between one and two months to complete a commission.
- I will stay in contact with you throughout the process, and you may certainly contact me at any time to ask how things are progressing. I try to always answer within two days.
- I work in the order I receive the heads for that month, so regardless of if you're #1 or #7 for a month, if I get your head first, that's the head I will work on.
- I will hold a reserved slot for you for up to two months. If I have not received your head within those two months, you will have to request a new slot. (Please understand that I do this to prevent a terrible backlog and slowing everyone down!)
- Please understand that I won't copy another artist's work. I'm happy to look at samples of what you like and try to incorporate that look into my own work instead.
